The Parade development in Sandsend, near Whitby has won the ‘Best New Small Housing Development’ at the 2017 LABC North and East Yorkshire Building Excellence Awards.
The LABC Building Excellence awards are the largest business to business awards in the building control sector. They reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, and partnerships and individuals that go that extra mile.
The Parade development features three luxury coastal terrace homes, each offering fantastic views across a broad expanse of beach and spectacular panoramic sea views. Only 10 metres from the beach and based on sloping land, the design phase of the project lasted for almost four years. The most complex part of the project involved cutting into the land to the rear of the site and driving the piling 17 metres into the bank. The development was thoughtfully designed by our team to be of traditional appearance in order to fit aesthetically with the local surroundings.
On winning the award, Darren Wass, Project Manager, said: “We are delighted to have won this award. The Parade was a completely unique development which had many complexities and it is fantastic that our positive and collaborative relationship with the local Building Control has been recognised.”
We now go forward to the LABC Grand Finals which are held in London later this year.
