Experienced bricklayer, Steve Speight has been helping to build his dream new home at Granary Fold in Cloughton near Scarborough.
The stunning two bedroom bungalow has been built using natural stone from a local quarry and is one of three completely unique bungalows at the development.
Steve said: "I'm local to the area and started working on the development at the end of last year. Once I got a feel for the homes here and saw the high specification that Mulgrave were building to, I decided I'd quite like one myself! I feel very lucky - not many people can say they've helped to build their own house!"
Granary Fold is nearing competition with only one 3 bedroom property still available to purchase.
The development occupies the site of an old farmstead and this is reflected in both its design and layout with each of two, three and four bedroom homes having been individually designed using natural materials. The popular Cleveland Way Walking Trail is on the doorstep and many of the properties offer sea views.
