Barley Folde is situated in the historic market town of Pocklington, in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

As the Gateway to the Yorkshire Wolds the town is perfectly positioned with stunning countryside on your doorstep and yet only 15 miles east of York. 

Out and About


Pocklington is home to a multitude of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. There are also a range of supermarkets, a post office, several banks and coffee shops.

The town is home to an Arts Centre, the popular Burnby Hall Gardens and sports and leisure facilities including the Francis Scaife Leisure Centre.

The historic city of York, the cultural city of Hull, the charming market town of Beverley and the beautiful East Yorkshire Coast are all under an hour’s drive away, making Pocklington the perfect place to call home.

Transport


The A1079 acts as the main road link to both York and Hull, and the nearest railway station is fifteen miles away in York.

Pocklington is served by local buses that connect to surrounding villages and major towns and cities such as York, Hull, Beverley and Bridlington

Pocklington has many schools in the area including Pocklington Community Junior School, St Mary & St Joseph RC Primary School, Pocklington C of E Infant school, Woldgate College and the well-known Pocklington School, with William Wilberforce as a notable former pupil.
